Senior Cost Accountant

Atkore International is currently searching for a Senior Cost Accountant for its Harvey, Illinois facility located approximately 30 miles south of downtown Chicago. The Senior Cost Accountant will have responsibility for the preparation, analysis and/or maintenance of accounting records, financial statements and other financialreports. Prepare general ledger entries and balance sheet reconciliations, which includes running reports and conducting analysis of financial records and files Execute financial analytics pertaining to month-end close, monthly forecasting and the annual budgeting process Perform monthly accounting close and reporting activities in timely and accurate manner Assist with the development, analytics and management of plant standard costs Review internal accounting processes making recommendations for streamlining opportunities Responsible for understanding and complying with Atkore policies for accounting and internal controls and GAAP Prepare monthly and quarterly financialreports and statements Maintain strict confidentiality of company information, financial or otherwise Facilitate the consistent application of internal controls and Sarbanes Oxley compliance audit activity Work closely with the Operations Management team on various ad hoc requests Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related area of study; CPApreferred 7 to 10 years of finance/accounting experience in a manufacturing environment; 3-5 years in a cost accounting capacity Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel Ability to quickly learn and utilize various software applications and financialreporting tools Ability to quickly and efficiently research and interpret financial data Experience with Hyperion preferred SENIO01914

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
