Mechanical Products is a stand-alone business unit with about $600M in annual revenue. Our global locations include 24 manufacturing and distribution centers in the US, Canada, the United Kingdom, China, Australia, and New Zealand with over 3,000 employees. We are currently searching for a Sr Manager Corporate Logistics to be based out of Harvey, IL. This position will Manage the Atkore corporate strategic logistics functions including all price terms and conditions for freight movement, all international freight negotiations including trade compliance, development and implementation of freight cost out initiatives and coordination of freight between the Atkore Business unit tactical logistics teams. Responsibilities: - Implementation and execution of transportation strategies, carrier optimization, and Trade Compliance. - Managing, planning and overseeing all aspects of the global transportation, including the carrier relationship management. - Develop, implement and maintain the global transportation strategy to ensure the customer and the company utilizes the best combination of price, service, regulatory compliance and product security. - Maintain and enforce the Core Carrier Program, Claim Policy and Transportation Policy. - Rates negotiations (flatbed, LTL, intermodal/rail, parcel and air/ocean international), freight optimization and carrier contracts. - Effectively managing $100 plus million dollars global transportation spend. - Data driven decision making. - Direct management of freight payment services and system automation to improve visibility in supply chain. - Travel overseas and within North America to work with site's logistics team. - Drive Lean best practices to optimize the network and to improve process efficiencies. - Utilize systems to drive freight analytics and reporting. - Closely work with Corporate and Sites Distribution team to effectively contribute on DC performance improvement initiatives and in implementing core carrier compliance program. - Ability to work with overseas carriers and direct material suppliers given time zone difference. - Provided innovative, strategic recommendations to manage global transportation operations and work withinternal and external partners to gain approval and implement recommendations. - Plan, build and manage global transportation improvement plans across functional peer groups and geographies. - Collaborate with subordinate supervisors, customers, functional peers, and senior management regarding the effects of transportation decisions on the corporation, including analysis and/or information regarding the industry and/or government (foreign and domestic) policies and regulations that may affect the company. - Develop strategic processes to improve the Service Factor metrics via logistics strategies. Requirements Desired Skills and Experience - 7+ years of Logistics and Operations experiencerequired. - Bachelordegree mandatory and Masters Degree preferred (business or technical area). - People management and department lead experience in current or previous organizations - Working knowledge of logistics service provider companies and customs regulatory import/export requirements. - Ability to create and design systems to increase overall efficiency. Bring forward strategic ideas to management, communicate change impacts, gain approval, and implement changes and improvements effectively. - High business acumen, leadership, planning and organizing, as well as conflict management skills. - Knowledge of Global Shipping Procedures, Incoterms and import/export trade compliance - Ability to manage the working relationship with government authorities, brokers and forwarders. - Able to effectively lead and manage direct subordinate employees and multi-layer function. - Able to create and deliver performance management messages to subordinates. - Excellent leadership, communication, analytical and project management skills required. - Exceptional ability to work independently and use sound judgment in decision making with results driven orientation. - Ability to participate as a team-member as well as leader in a fast paced, team oriented environment. - Ability to facilitate group meetings and driving results working with cross functional or cross regional teams. - Must have experience effectively managing 100 plus million dollars global spend. (Atkore: $100M global transportation spend (TL/Flatbed: 80%, LTL: 6%, Air/Ocean International: 4% and Rail/Intermodal and Small Parcel: 10%). - Well organized and able to process large amounts of complex information, effective operational troubleshooting skills and effective decision making skills - Excellent communication skills (written and oral), People skills (able to motivate, coach and develop people). - Must have exposure to six sigma, lean and best practices, ability to work in a fast paced environment, a passion for excellence. - Computer literate; knowledgeable of Microsoft programs. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
